How to re-decorate a teen room?

Hi, there! I'm a 15 year old girl looking to redecorate my room. I'm looking for good DIY projects as well as a few purchased items. I need a dresser but would like something more rustic. I also would like to have some great one-of-a-kind decorative pieces i.e. lampshades, vases, curtains, picture frames.
How I would describe my style of room:
*Relaxing
*Earth tones (hate bright colors)
*Not your average teen room
*Candles
*Flowers (real)
*Cozy
*Dark

Let's start a the beginning.

1. Start with a color scheme. You say you like earth tones? Let's do... green, brown, and accents of rose. Like it?

2. Room color. As you said, you want it dark and cozy. Earth tones can add cool effects, for example you could put all walls the green you wanted plus one wall could be brown but you could draw cool flowers and color them In green, plus outline them in rose. Or do a wall with horizontal striped that vary in width and you could do green rose brown, etc.

3. Basic furniture. I think cool worn out white furniture from thrift shops will work best.

4. The bed. Get a nice solid bed cover and add lots of pillows remember to stick to your color scheme.. And orange pillow wouldn't do favors ..
The beside table should stay uncluttered and get a vase of roses and put them there.

5. Desk. Get some candles for the desk. Get a nice rose swivel chair.

6. Hangout . Every teen room needs some chill space. Maybe purchase 2 chairs of your choice... Saucer, beanbag, or even a mini futon.

7. ACCENTS!!!
Lampshade... I see you want a one of a kind? First, get a WHITE lampshade. At the top and bottom add green ribbon trim by hot glue or hand sew. Then use watercolors to paint a light pink on the remaining white. You you want, use a brown sharpie to write quotes or something. It may bleed a bit.
You can make you own curtains with fabric from the fabric store. Again, I suggest adding ribbon trim
Vases. Nothing you can really due but hot glue appliqués.
You can decorate your own frames by getting plain ones at a craft store.
You could put the pictures in sepia or grayscale, that would look cool.

If you don't like some of these you should check out antique shops and garage sales and stuff.
