how to sew this stretch fabric? read description...?
this fabric is stretchy not very stretchy but t shirt material. not those cotton stretch but it has got slight spandex sheen to it. so i assume it is a blend fabric but overall it is stretchy. i bought it from a cheap novelty store nearby.also this fabric is slightly thinner than t shirt. not transparent but it is light and stretchy with a sheen to it. and it has got stripe prints
You need:
(1) A stretch needle - this is better than a ballpoint needle as it does not skip or puncture holes in the knit.
(2) A stretch stitch or a medium length, narrow zig-zag stitch where you want to maintain the stretch of the fabric.
(3) Polyester and not cotton thread - poly has some give and cotton does not.
(4) A walking foot would be ideal, but test the fabric and stitching by making a seam on a two layers of a scrap of the fabric you want to stitch.
